To understand the distinction between fact and fiction, and notice the differences in writing styles.

History

6A The Romans

Why do people move? Invasion and settlement.

Place the Roman and Celtic periods in a simple chronological framework.

9 - Village Settlers

Identify early settlement patterns, links between older settlements and the present landscape.

Understand features and materials needed to develop a settlement.

Art

4C - Journeys

Explore how signs, symbols and metaphors can be used to communicate ideas and meanings about a journey.  Produce mixed-media work, combining drawing, painting, collage or print-making techniques.

Learn about artists, craftspeople and designers who communicate their ideas through signs and symbols.

Learn how textiles containers eg purses, wallets and belt bags are designed for different purposes and different users.

Similarities and differences between people. Link to Roman Invasion.

Setting targets, recognising and developing abilities.

Face new challenges positively.

Being a good friend ? Link to RE ?  Christian belief that Jesus is a friend to everyone.

PE/Games

Invasion Games - Unit 1

Ball skills  for recognised games ? football.

Use skills and tactics suitable for attacking and defending.

Work with others to organise and keep the games going.

Swimming

Propel themselves in water using different swimming aids.

Use recognised arm and leg actions.

Begin to use a range of recognised strokes and personal survival skills.
