1 Jul 2009 - Information for new reception parents - September 2009

Dear New Parents

The first day of school for your child will be on Tuesday 2nd September 2009 starting at 8:50 am until 12:30 pm.  We would be grateful if you would not arrive before 8:40 am to ensure there is a member of staff on the playground to supervise the children.

We like to gently introduce the children to school life and from week beginning 2nd, 7th, 14th and 21st September Reception children will only be in school for the morning sessions of 8:50 am to 12:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

From the week beginning Monday 28th September and Monday 5th October children will also stay for lunch so will be in the school from 8:50 am to 1:30 pm.  And, starting Monday 12th October children will be able to stay all day at school.  The school day starts at 8:50 am and ends at 3:05 pm.

Monday to Thursday your child will need to bring a healthy snack for break times such as a piece of fruit.  On Fridays children may bring a snack of their choosing (not sweets). Your child will also need to bring a drink (preferably water) each day to school.  Lunch starts at 12:30 pm and your child may bring either a packed lunch, or they can order a hot school lunch at registration.  Lunch menus and how to pay for meals will be sent out to you in September.  The cost of a school lunch is £2.

It is helpful if children keep their PE kits in school all week and take it home only at half term to be washed.  Please mark with permanent marker or sew in name tags for all items brought into school including school shoes, uniform and lunch boxes etc.
